Life's Changing Stages.

Have you ever paused to reflect on how life changes, stage by stage? One day, you’re ‘this girl/boy,’ and the next, you’re ‘Aunty/Uncle.’ Life, as I’ve learned, is a journey through seasons—each with its purpose and beauty.

There was a time when I used to be addressed as ‘this girl.’ It was a label I carried with little thought, a simple reminder of my youthful days. But lately, something has shifted. I’ve noticed that even people older than I am now greet me as ‘Aunty’ or ‘Sisi.’

At first, it felt strange. In my mind, I’d laugh and think, “Where is the aunty? I’m still a child o!” But over time, I’ve realized that these terms aren’t just words—they reflect the stages I’ve moved through in life.

And the truth is: life is in stages. It’s that simple.

Understanding Life’s Stages

Whether we like it or not, life is a progression. The ‘girl/boy’ of today might become the ‘Aunty/Uncle’ of tomorrow, and eventually, the ‘Grandma/Grandpa.’ Each stage brings new responsibilities, new perspectives, and new identities.

This progression is natural, even inevitable. And yet, it carries a valuable lesson: no stage is forever. Every chapter of life is fleeting, moving us closer to the next one.

So, what do we do with this knowledge?

Embrace the Present

Each stage of life has its purpose and its beauty. Whether you’re in the carefree ‘girl/boy’ phase, the responsible ‘AuntyUncle’ phase, or somewhere in between, the key is to live fully in the present. Appreciate where you are, and make the most of what you have right now.

Here’s why this matters: sooner or later, we all reach a stage where our labels are left behind, and the word ‘late’ becomes the final chapter. Before that time comes, we must ensure we’ve made our lives meaningful.

Live with Intention

How do you make the most of your stage in life? Here are a few practical steps:

1. Reflect on Your Current Stage

Ask yourself: what is this stage teaching me? What opportunities do I have right now that I may not have later?

2. Set Goals for Growth

Every stage comes with room for improvement. Set small, achievable goals that align with your current responsibilities and aspirations.

3. Celebrate Progress

It’s easy to focus on what’s next and forget to appreciate how far you’ve come. Celebrate the milestones you’ve reached, no matter how small.

4. Invest in Others

Every stage is a chance to impact others positively. Whether it’s mentoring, supporting, or simply being kind, your actions can leave a lasting mark.

Life is in stages, and each one is precious. Whether you’re the ‘girl/boy,’ the ‘Aunty/Uncle,’ or even the ‘Grandma/Grandpa,’ you have the power to live with intention and purpose. Use your stage well.

Because when the time comes, and we’re remembered only by the word ‘late,’ the way we lived will be our legacy.

Live fully. Love deeply. And embrace your journey—stage by stage.
